Jessica Reid

Designated Safeguarding Lead and Senior Mental Health Lead

Jessica is a dedicated safeguarding professional with over 10 years’ experience leading and developing safeguarding practice across educational settings in both the UK and internationally, and trained at the Anna Freud. 

 

She is passionate about creating inclusive learning environments and has experience leading safeguarding practice across rapidly evolving digital environments, schools, and SEN provisions.

 

She is passionate about developing innovative approaches to education risk management that respond effectively to the complexities of an ever-evolving safeguarding landscape. Her expertise encompasses strategic safeguarding leadership and management, policy development, and the design and implementation of robust systems that promote the welfare and wellbeing of children and young people.

Jessica specialises in therapeutic safeguarding, applying trauma-informed, relationship-based, and family-centred approaches to strengthen safeguarding practice and organisational culture.

At an Autism specialist secondary school, Jessica led the development of therapeutic return to school plans, including family support and home visits. Alongside Alison, she was part of a Senior Leadership Team that enabled the school to move from Requires Improvement to Good within one Ofsted cycle. 

 

She provides expert advice, guidance, and support to educational leaders and practitioners, helping organisations to embed effective safeguarding frameworks and foster cultures of safety, trust, and belonging. Her work is driven by a commitment to creating environments in which children and young people feel safe, supported and able to thrive.
